Audit Technician - Dallas Location

Job Requirements:

Education: A bachelor’s degree is not required, but a degree in accounting or finance would certainly be helpful.

Licensing: This position does not require the individual to be a licensed CPA, nor is there any expectation that the individual would need to pursue licensure.

Experience: While not required, experience or knowledge of nonprofit organizations and bookkeeping experience would be beneficial.

Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel are required and, while not required, experience using CCH ProSystem fx Engagement and CCH Axcess software would be beneficial.

Personal Skills: We are looking for someone who has the ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, who is mindful of detail in their work, and who will take responsibility for their work.

Remote Work Opportunities: The firm currently utilizes a hybrid work schedule, which provides our employees the ability to work both in-office and remotely on a firm-designated schedule.

 

Job Description: 

For the candidate who meets the criteria provided in the above job requirements, we will provide the necessary training to equip you to perform the following duties in this role:

  • Performing pre-engagement audit steps, including preparing correspondence (such as engagement letters and third-party confirmations) and setting up electronic audit binders
  • Assisting with client communications to collect information needed for audits, including managing information requests
  • Assisting with drafting audit reports
  • Performing quality reviews on audit reports
  • Performing basic audit procedures under the direct supervision of a trained auditor, including selecting samples, inspecting documents, testing account balances, and other select test work
  • Performing other administrative work to assist auditors in audit and other engagements

We do not expect the individual hired for this position to have had experience or prior knowledge of the above responsibilities. An aptitude for learning and a genuine interest in receiving proper training is sufficient.
